2024 Officer Candidates

  • Cait Allen

Hi! I’m Cait Allen, president of the Queen Village Neighbors Association. Serving in this role since last January has been an incredible honor, and I appreciate the opportunity to continue to do so. Since taking office, I’ve worked tirelessly to improve the quality of life for everyone who lives in the Village. To be most effective, I’ve worked on building a coalition with nearby civics to amplify our collective voice and address shared issues.

A main focus has been on increasing public safety by promoting community policing, launching the safety ambassadors program, and repairing broken street lights. Another focus has been strengthening our relationship with the Courtyard development by expanding our joint summer camp, helping to enroll several teen girls in a college prep program, and assisting with the semimonthly food pantry.

I look forward to continuing to serve the residents of Queen Village in my next term!

  • Chris Mullen

I have been a Queen Village resident since 1996. First on 3rd and Fitzwater and on Queen St since 2006.

I have been on the Board since the Fall of 2021 and in that time I have been the Secretary, Chairmen of the Membership Committee where I steered the development of the Tour d’ Arte and our Holiday Celebrations. I also sit on the CCIP (the Community organization that liaises with ILMAC). I have been the Vice President for the last 2 years where I have helped QVNA recover from a post-Covid world.

I am optimistic about our neighborhood, and I look forward to the opportunity to share opinions with other residents and help us to continue to be the best neighborhood in Philadelphia.

I currently live at Queen and Swanson with my wife, Tracy, our 2 dogs Lucy and Browndawg, and our cats.

2024 Board Candidates

  • Mae Johnson

In 1976, my parents bought our home at 325 Gaskill Street. My dad spent the next year building our home from the inside out while my mom got her Masters in Urban Planning from Penn. At the time, the Southwest corner of the block was occupied by a sausage factory (now a physical therapy studio), which I’m told received a dump truck full of miscellaneous animal parts weekly. The surrounding neighborhood was on the verge of being demolished to make way for a conduit to I95; an effort that was thwarted by hippies and artists like Julia and Isaiah Zagar. Suffice it to say, Queen Village was a very different place then…

I was born in 1983 and spent my childhood at Three Bears, Old Pine (both church and community center), and McCall School until 5th grade. We rented our house on Gaskill and moved to 11th and Spruce. I made my way through Masterman and finally, Central High.

After graduation, I attended Tulane in New Orleans; eventually making my way back to Temple University and to the 300 block of Gaskill Street. I graduated with a marketing degree but decided to pursue full-time motherhood, which was made especially sweet by being back in my childhood home.

In 2021, both my children started school; my son Kindergarten at McCall, and my daughter pre-school at YCCA. I completed my real estate license and joined Elfant Wissahickon Realtors. Since then, I’ve been working hard as an agent to share the best this city and our neighborhood has to offer.

Over the last 40 years, I’ve seen the many iterations of South Street and the communities that surround it and I believe there is opportunity for the residents of this community to affect real change for its businesses and residents alike. We have the resources and the talent to “be the change” we’d like to see, and I’m excited and honored to be invited to participate.

As an agent, a mom, and lifelong resident of Queen Village, it is my ambition to serve my clients, my children, and my community!
