At QVNA’s February 20th Community Meeting, the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation (DRWC) will present its concepts for the Washington Avenue Connector Project. The presentation begins at 6:30pm at St. Philip Neri Church Hall, 218 Queen Street. Community meetings like ours have played a major part in the development of the Project.
Washington Avenue Connector’s planners believe that from 4th Street to Columbus Boulevard, Washington Avenue can be a well-lit, beautiful streetscape with improved safety for pedestrians, bicyclists and motorists. In addition, they hope neighbors will see the waterfront as a resource for open space, recreation, environmental education, and community.
In May and November 2018, DRWC sponsored two community input meetings. Project planning took shape using that input along with input from partner groups PennDOT and Philadelphia Streets Department.
