One of Philadelphia’s most intriguing and popular races, the Philly 10K returns to South Street the last weekend of August.
On race day August 27th the heart of Philly will move to the pounding of footsteps, through 6.2 miles of urban character, seen on the stoops and the store fronts…the murals and the markets…the restaurants and the revolution beginning at 8th & South Streets. The event will conclude Post-Race Festival located on 4th St, 5th & Passyunk Streets between Bainbridge & South and on Bainbridge Street between 4th & 5th.
There will be no parking on the race route, (look for NO PARKING signs) from midnight on Saturday before the race through 11am the next morning. Additionally, South Street will be closed to vehicular traffic beginning at 4am on Sunday morning.
The race and post race festival should operate from approximately 7am – 1pm on Sunday with streets opening as safety allows following racers clearing the area.
