Imagination Grove Installation Opening

The artists in Pat Aulisio’s summer wheatpasting workshop have been hard at work putting together the finishing touches on the “Imagination Grove” installation at the Queen Street tunnel. Here’s a sneak peek of what they’ve been working on. Don’t forget to come by the tunnel (at the intersection of Front and Queen streets) for the official opening Thursday, August 4, from 5 to 6 p.m.

Fleisher Art Memorial has partnered with the Queen Village Neighbors Association to brighten up the Queen Street tunnel through the installation of Imagination Grove, a collaborative and temporary wheatpaste mural. Featuring fantastical creatures, fanciful flora and fauna, and whimsical dreamscapes the project asked its participants to envision what the environment of the future could look like.

Participants in Fleisher’s programs for adults and young artists, as well as community members who attended Fleisher’s annual festival, ARTspiration!, were all involved in making the mural come to life.
