Update from the South Street Mini Station

Last week I sent you a community crime alert informing you of several commercial burglaries in the area. I also gave some helpful advice to distribute to your communities which could deter crime and prevent them from becoming a victim crime. I also indicated to you that South Detectives had identified a person of interest in several these burglaries. I am please to announce to you that on Thursday July 23rd 2015 an arrest of two males were made shortly after 3rd District police officers responded to a radio assignment of a burglar alarm in the area. After interviews  of these suspects,  discovered was their involvement in several commercial burglaries
to include the Barrel House located at 625 S. 6th Street, Bridget Foy’s located in the 200 block of South Street, and Little Italy Pizza in the 200 block of Queen Street. I want to applaud both the Business and Residential Communities for their participation in the SAFECAM program. their participation led to not only an identification but the swift arrests of these males and end to their crime spree.  I encourage all communities to keep a watchful eye, with your continued involvement we can achieve much, without you we achieve little!
