Today, Monday, 05/19/08, 12:15 PM, in the 100 block of Delancey St. a complainant was walking west, going to her place of employment near 2nd & pine Sts. As the complainant walked past a vehicle that was double parked about 5 houses in from the corner of Front St., a male exited the vehicle, pointed a handgun at the complainant and demanded her handbag. The complainant complied and the offender drove away, east on Delancey St. then north on Front St. The vehicle was described as a black SUV, possibly a Ford Explorer. The offender was described as a black male, mid 20's, 6', short hair, clean shaven, wearing a black hoody, black jeans. Taken was a handbag, cell phone, $6 in cash and credit cards. There were no injuries.
Please have your Town Watch and Eyes and Ears members alerted to this description and call 911 immediately if anyone fitting the description is observed in the area. Please make reference to this robbery to the call taker so it is given a priority status.
