Publications QVNA, it's board of directors, committees,
and residents continually strive to improve our neighborhood. In order to
effectively meet this goal, it is important to share reports,
publications, and other information that we generate.
Current reports and publications:
Queen Village: An Oral History Documented
QVNA invited Marty Labb, a lifetime resident of the 900 block of
South Second Street (between Christian and Carpenter Streets, to share
with residents the stories of our neighborhood over the past 50 years.
Marty served in the navy during the Korean War, attended Temple
University on the GI Bill, and became a public school teacher in
Philadelphia School District. Marty is also a published poet.

Queen Village Landmark at Risk: Emmanuel Lutheran
Church
Few people in Queen Village could tell you where the Emmanuel German
Evangelical Lutheran Church is, but almost everyone know the church for
its beautiful spire at Fourth and Carpenter Streets, the tallest 19th
century structure in the neighborhood.

Queen Village's Guide to Historic Homes
Ever wonder how many Queen Village homes are certified as
“historic?” A couple hundred? Maybe even 500? Actually, about 950 Queen
Village buildings are on the Register of Historic Places of the
Philadelphia Historic Commission—one of the largest concentrations of
18th- and 19th-century historically significant homes in the nation. The
top five streets are Front (92 buildings), Queen (88), Fitzwater (68),
Second (62), and Catharine (49). Now you can access the Queen Village

Trinity Episcopal Church: A History
Before there was Mario Lanza Park, there was the Trinity Episcopal
Church. Consecrated in 1822, the church was razed almost 90 years ago
and little trace remains. Queen Village resident Edwin Rivera shares his
research into the history of the church and its place in our
neighborhood. His article contains historic photos, floor plans, and
more.

Queen Village Transit Guide (November 2006):
The QVNA Transportation Committee has prepared a useful guide to
help residents understand their public transportation options in and
near Queen Village. The guide includes an overview of nearby bus,
subway, and train lines. The guide also includes information on fares,
using bikes on transit, and tips for taking transit to New York City.

Philly Car Share - One Year Impact Report (March
2006):
This report, prepared by PhillyCarShare, evaluates the impact of the
on-street Philly Car Share spots in Queen Village. The report suggests
that the initiative has significantly reduced car ownership and improved
on-street parking availability as compared using a commercial off-street
facility.

Queen Village Parking Survey Report:
The Parking sub-committee of the Queen Village Transportation
Committee has recently completed an in-depth survey of residents
regarding a variety of parking and transportation issues. The interim
